Job summary

Harris Health is seeking a Patient Care Assistant II to support inpatient care activities under the supervision of a registered nurse. The PCA II works closely with the charge nurse and staff to ensure patient care needs are met, demonstrating basic patient care activities, medical terminology, communication, organizational, and computer skills.

The position requires a High School diploma or GED with technical training; CNA/ CMA/ EMT-B certification; BLS; Aggression Management within 90 days;

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED plus technical skills/training appropriate to the specialty area.
• Certified Nurse Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant or Emergency Medical Technician-Basic; Nursing students exempt of certification requirement provided a satisfactory completion of first clinical/foundations course.
• Basic Life Support from a hospital-based American Heart Association (AHA) approved program.
• Aggression Management certification within 90 days of hire
• EKG, and/or Phlebotomy competency validation required, as applicable to specialty area within 6 months of hire.
• Two (2) years related clinical experience (experience in nursing program clinical rotations is applicable)
• Communication Skills: Above Average Verbal Communication (Heavy Public Contact)
• Proficiencies: Personal Computer, MS Word, Typing
