Job summary

UC Health is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to provide basic direct patient care under supervision. You will take vital signs, assist with ADLs, and support safe, compassionate care across clinical areas.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, and completion of State Tested Nursing Aide training or equivalent. Training may include hospital orientation and PCA competency assessments at UC Health.

Qualifications

• Minimum Required: High School Diploma or GED.
• State Tested Nursing Aide Training; Acute Medical Surgical Training or Hospital Specific Training.
• May be a student from an accredited RN program that has completed medical surgical rotation.
• UC Health competency training for PCA's and orientation may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic direct patient care under delegation by clinical staff.
• Take and record vital signs and monitor patient condition.
• Assist with activities of daily living and hygiene.
• Assist with meals, mobility, and positioning; ensure safety and comfort.
• Utilize equipment safely and follow infection control procedures.
• Communicate observations to RN and document treatments.
