Job summary

Qualifications

• Trained and maintains proficiency in AHA CPR and patient care skills.
• State Tested Nursing Aide Training; Acute Medical Surgical Training or Hospital Specific Training.
• May be a student from an accredited RN program that has completed a medical surgical rotation or another acute care rotation.
• UC Health competency training for PCA’s and orientation may be required before caring for patients.

Responsibilities

• Engages in patient care activities and supports RN oversight.
• Provides patient care in a culturally sensitive, age-appropriate manner.
• Measures vital signs and assists with daily living activities and hygiene.
• Maintains clean, safe, and organized patient environments and communicates observations to the nursing team.
• Participates in patient admission, transfer and discharge processes and supports teamwork.
