Job summary

The Brigham and Women's Hospital, Inc. is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to support licensed staff in daily patient care activities. You will assist with bathing, dressing, feeding, and basic hygiene, while monitoring vital signs and documenting findings in the medical record.

Onsite role at 70 Francis Street with regular day shifts. Prior patient care experience and basic life support credentials are preferred, and the hospital emphasizes teamwork and compassionate patient interactions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• Experience in patient care 1-2 years preferred.
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Strong patient/customer service skills.
• Proficient computer skills to work with electronic medical records.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Performs vital signs, weights/heights, intakes, and outputs with accuracy and within established time frame.
• Completes all documentation in the medical record as required.
• Interacts with patients and their families effectively.
• Assists with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, toilet assistance, and feeding.
• Assists patients with repositioning and mobility as needed.
• Listens to health concerns and reports them to the nurses.

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred

Experience in patient care 1-2 years preferred

Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions

Knowledge of medical terminology

Strong patient/customer service skills

Proficient computer skills with EMR

Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
