Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to support licensed staff by assisting patients with daily living activities and basic health tasks. The role involves measuring vitals, assisting with feeding, and updating patient records in the Electronic Health Record system.

The position requires basic healthcare certifications and a willingness to work on-site in a fast-paced hospital setting, with emphasis on teamwork and patient safety. Prior elder care experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• BLS certification preferred; CMA or Nursing Assistant certs valued.
• Experience in patient care/elder care is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care tasks and clinical duties as assigned, including vital signs, EKGs, and phlebotomy.
• Documents height, weight, intake/output, and glucose in EHR.
• Assists with meals, feeding, and mobility as needed.
• Keeps patient rooms stocked, cleaned, and stocked with supplies.
• Sets up and cleans equipment, reports malfunctions per policy.
• Assists with admitting and discharging patients, supports orientation of new staff.
