Job summary

Bronson Battle Creek Hospital is seeking a Part-time Patient Representative BBC - PRN to support patient access at the Battle Creek location. Responsibilities include greeting patients, collecting demographic/insurance data, verifying eligibility, and scheduling appointments.

The role supports the revenue cycle, provides price estimates, and handles payments with HIPAA-compliant handling of information. Weekend standby rotations may apply for ED teams.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service experience required.
• Medical Terminology, CPT and ICD-10 coding strongly preferred.
• Basic typing at 45 WPM, basic ten key, and computer skills within a Windows environment.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and confidentiality requirements, insurance payer regulations and requirements, and patient rights.
• Knowledge of revenue cycle components and his/her role in the ability to impact the overall process.
• Knowledge of the impact of accurate registration has on patient satisfaction.
• Analytical skills to solve simple to semi complex problems.
• Organization, prioritization and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients, gather and enter demographic and insurance/billing information.
• Verify insurance eligibility and provide price estimates; collect and enter payments.
• Schedule appointments and provide patient with financial information.
• Apply knowledge of billing and coding requirements per industry standards.
• Support the revenue cycle and ensure accurate patient registration and documentation.
• Work in a team environment and deliver exceptional customer service.
