Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous clerical, customer service, or healthcare-related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Register and admit patients in person, by phone, or at bedside with complete demographic and insurance data.
• Verify insurance coverage and manage payer requirements, escalating as needed.
• Explain payment policies and collect copays, deductibles, and other payments.
• Obtain and witness required registration and financial consent forms.
• Provide patient cost estimates when applicable.
• Maintain accurate patient records and update account information in the EMR.
• Answer phones, manage work queues, assemble patient documents, and follow downtime procedures.
• Assist patients, families, and visitors professionally while maintaining confidentiality.
• Participate in meetings and department projects; pursue professional development.
• Perform other related projects and duties as assigned.
