Yona is seeking a friendly Cook to join our dining team in a part-time role with opportunities to pick up extra hours.

You will prepare meals according to the menu, follow safety and sanitation standards, and assist with serving in a timely, quality-focused dining program for residents, visitors, and coworkers.

Applicants should have proven cooking experience, good communication, and the stamina for fast-paced kitchen environments.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a cook in a kitchen environment.
• Knowledge of sanitation and safety guidelines.
• Skilled at preparing meals according to instructions and recipes.
• Apt in operating cookware and cooking appliances.
• Friendly with good communication skills.
• Good physical condition and stamina.
• Must provide a criminal background check.
• High school diploma or equivalent; certification in food services is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepares food according to the menu in a safe, sanitary manner.
• Ensures proper preparation, portioning, and serving according to recipes.
• Prepares quality food products according to menus and recipes.
• Adheres to safety and sanitation standards.
• Prepares food in a timely manner at specified meal times.
• Follows sanitation, safety, and cleaning schedules.
• Cleans kitchen equipment and storage areas.
• Labels and dates all food in storage, prevents contamination.
• Suggests menu changes to utilize leftovers and reduce costs.
