Job summary

Yona is seeking a friendly Cook to join the dining team at our community residence. This part-time role offers opportunity to pick up extra hours.

You will prepare meals according to menus, follow safety standards, and work under the direction of the food services director.

Qualifications

• Minimum proven experience as a cook.
• Knowledge of sanitation and safety guidelines.
• Ability to prepare meals according to recipes.
• Proficient with cookware, bakeware and cooking appliances.
• Friendly, with good communication skills.
• Good physical condition and stamina.
• High school diploma or equivalent; food service certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all food according to the menu in a safe, sanitary manner under the direction of the food services director.
• Ensure proper preparation, portioning, and serving of foods according to standardized recipes.
• Prepare quality food products according to standardized recipes and menus.
• Adhere to all safety and sanitation standards.
• Prepare food in a timely manner at specified meal times.
• Follow departmental procedures including sanitation, safety, and cleaning schedules.
• Maintain proper labeling and dating of all foods.
• Assist with storage and handling to prevent contamination and waste.
