Job summary

The Certified Medical Assistant at MUSC Community Physicians supports a decentralized, patient-centered care model and assists physicians during examinations and treatments in an outpatient clinic setting.

Responsibilities include interviewing patients, taking vital signs, and preparing rooms. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of an accredited medical assisting program, and current certification/licensure per recognized bodies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical assisting program preferred.
• One year of patient care experience preferred.
• Certification through AMT, AAMA, NHA, NAHP as CMA/CCMA required or strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information in the medical record.
• Prepares treatment rooms for examination and assists in procedures under physician direction.
