Job summary

Meritus Health is seeking Clinical Observers to join our Nursing Services team. This role provides one-to-one observation and support for patients, promoting safety and a therapeutic environment while assisting with daily living activities.

You'll document patient interactions, report changes to nursing staff, and help maintain a hazard-free environment. Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to patient safety are essential; BLS/CPR certification is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Ability to sit in quiet observation of patient for long periods of time without distraction.
• Experience in customer service or team-based environments a plus
• Current BLS (CPR) certification required
• Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to patient safety

Responsibilities

• Provide constant observation and personal care for patients requiring one-to-one support
• Assist with daily living needs: bathing, oral care, mobility, nutrition, and elimination
• Document patient interactions and observations accurately
• Identify and report behavioral changes or safety concerns to nursing staff
• Maintain a hazard-free patient environment and follow safety protocols during transport
• Support nursing assistants and serve as a preceptor for new team members
