Job summary

Compass Group is seeking a patient observer to provide visual and audible monitoring of assigned patients under the direction of an RN and unit manager. The role requires staying at the bedside, documenting observations, and assisting with safety and basic care tasks while collaborating with clinical staff.

The position emphasizes compassionate service, patient safety, and efficient response to emergencies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• CPR/AED or BLS certification required within 30 days of hire where applicable.
• Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods; lift up to 50 pounds.
• One to two years of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Visually and audibly monitors the assigned patient’s condition and behavior at all times.
• Completes observation reports at established intervals.
• Remains at the bedside unless relieved by appropriate staff.
• Responds rapidly to emergencies and escalates to nursing staff when needed.
• Assists with maintaining patient safety and the orderly environment.
