Job summary

Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, MD is seeking Clinical Observers to provide one-to-one patient observation and assistance with daily living activities. This role supports patient safety and a therapeutic environment within the Nursing Services team.

Responsibilities include documenting observations, reporting safety concerns, and aiding with daily tasks. Qualifications include high school diploma (preferred) and BLS/CPR certification; prior customer service experience is a plus.

Qualifications

In this vital role, you’ll provide one-to-one observation and support for patients, ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment while assisting with daily living activities.

What You’ll Do

• Provide constant observation and personal care for patients requiring one-to-one support
• Assist with daily living needs: bathing, oral care, mobility, nutrition, and elimination
• Document patient interactions and observations accurately
• Identify and report behavioral changes or safety concerns to nursing staff

Physical & Mental Requirements

This role involves frequent standing, walking, and lifting (up to 50 lbs.), as well as continuous mental focus and communication. You’ll also work in conditions that may involve exposure to blood and body fluids.
