Job summary

The Los Angeles Cancer Network is hiring a Medical Assistant to support oncology patients through vitals, phlebotomy, chart prep, and laboratory processing. You will work under provider supervision and collaborate with nursing staff to ensure safe, high-quality care throughout treatment.

Ideal candidates have completed an accredited MA program with certification and hold CPR certification; oncology experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited medical assistant program with certification.
• Current CPR certification.
• Excellent phlebotomy skills.
• Knowledge of medical laboratory procedures.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Oncology/Hematology experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Calibrate machines and check exam rooms.
• Record temperature logs and perform quality controls.
• Dispense injections and assist with procedures.
• Process labs and relay results; manage MA inbox and emails.
• Prepare charts and update vital signs, medications, allergies, pain scores and tobacco/depression screening.
• Assist with bone marrow biopsies, injections, and blood draws.
• Scan documents and maintain organized patient records.
• Ensure accurate MAR entries and clean exam rooms at day end.
