Oncura Health's Medical Assistant role with the Los Angeles Cancer Network supports patient screening data collection and documentation, delivering safe, quality care under the Provider or supervisor. You will manage check-in, EMR entry, insurance updates, and coordinate appointments.

This position requires strong communication, multitasking, and the ability to handle clinical workflows, no-shows, and referrals, with experience in EMR systems and phlebotomy skills. Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Aufgaben

• Answers, routes or take messages for all incoming calls during open business hours
• Takes complete info and routes new patient requests, prescription refill requests and records all patient interaction through telephone in the EMR
• Greets patients as they enter the clinic, obtains insurance info changes, preferred pharmacy and pharmacy benefit card
• Collects co-pay (if any) immediately from patient or note in EMR the reason that co-pay cannot be collected.
• Rooms patient in EMR, and directs them to Waiting Area, Treatment Room or Lab
• Checks all incoming faxes, and routes urgent/stat results appropriately, and transfer faxes to correct patient chart
• Confirms demographic information in EMR
• Takes vitals and enters required information in EMR
• Check out patients by arranging all follow up visits, coordinate treatment times with Chemo staff and set outside labs, testing and scanning appointments for patients
• Arranges all outside appointments for patients
