Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide patient treatment under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist at Springfield Regional Medical Center. The role covers inpatients, outpatients, pediatrics, and off-site locations within the care continuum.

You will document progress in the electronic health record, collaborate with the care team, and support patient and family education. Mercy Health emphasizes compassion and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Licensed as an Occupational Therapist Assistant in the state of practice (required).
• BLS Basic Life Support (required within 30 days for RSFH).
• Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides age-appropriate therapeutic interventions as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
• Maintains accurate and concise records on treatment and progress.
• Observes and reports patient responses to treatment and progress to the Occupational Therapist.
• Collaborates with the OT and health team to plan and coordinate treatment.
• Assists in assessment of daily living skills to determine abilities and limitations.
• Designs and adapts equipment for home/work environments.
