Mercy Health is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant to support licensed OT in providing patient treatment and education across multiple settings, including outpatient, inpatient, pediatrics, and off-site locations.

The role involves documenting progress, collaborating with the health team, and aiding in equipment design and adaptation to improve daily living activities for diverse patient populations.

Qualifications

• Applies age-specific standards and guidelines in caring for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Computer skills include data entry, word processing and email.
• Able to assess patient condition, capabilities and progress.
• Demonstrates interpersonal skills to effectively interact with co-workers, physicians, patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Provides age-appropriate therapeutic interventions as directed by the Occupational Therapist and monitors response to treatment.
• Maintains accurate and concise records on treatment provided and patient's progress.
• Observes and reports patients' responses to treatment and progress to the Occupational Therapist.
• Collaborates with Occupational Therapist and other health team members to plan, modify and coordinate treatment programs.
• Assists in assessment of client's daily living skills and capabilities to determine extent of abilities and limitations.
• Designs and adapts equipment in working/living environment.
