Job summary

Apploi in Chicago is seeking a compassionate Nursing Assistant to support the Charge Nurse in delivering resident care in a fast-paced facility. You will follow nursing standards and facility policies, document care, and assist with ADLs to ensure comfort and safety for residents.

You will participate in training, observe infection control, and coordinate with teams to maintain a high quality of life for residents while reporting changes promptly to the Charge Nurse.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
• Must possess the ability to use a computer with a degree of proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Report promptly and as scheduled to Charge Nurse for shift report.
• Perform all assigned tasks in accordance with established policies and procedures and as instructed by your Charge Nurse.
• Ensure that residents/families receive the highest quality of nursing service and help provide a caring and compassionate atmosphere at all times.
• Follow and complete all resident care assignments.
• Report all uncompleted assignments to Charge Nurse.
• Cooperate with inter-departmental personnel to ensure services are maintained to meet residents' needs.
• Attend all scheduled training programs including orientation and required training.
• Follow established procedures for identifying residents prior to care.
• Ensure timely reporting of all resident-related accidents, incidents, or changes in condition.
• Follow Infection Control Protocols and Universal Precautions.
• Follow isolation precautions, PPE and resident-item disposal procedures.
• Wash hands before and after performing all services for any resident.
• Ensure residents have access to call lights and monitor those unable to call for help.
• Report all changes in resident conditions to Charge Nurse.
• Assist with ADLs and daily living activities as assigned.
• Assist in meals, ensure proper diets and timely meal service.
• Prepare rooms and belongings for admissions/discharges.
