Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a school for nursing assistants or hold a CNA license.
• Minimum 6 months CNA experience or clinical experience during CNA coursework.
• Sincere desire to serve the ill, aged and infirm.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to deal tactfully with residents, families, visitors, and the public.
• Willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
• Patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm for residents at their current maturity level.
• Good general health and emotional stability.
• Ability to relate to ill, disabled, elderly and sometimes hostile individuals in the facility.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties per facility policies and nursing care procedures.
• Make resident rounds at shift start and every two hours.
• Verify resident ID before nursing care or meals to ensure correct care.
• Report missing ID bands to admission coordinator immediately.
• Make beds and clean bedside/overbed tables.
• Keep water pitchers clean, filled and within resident reach.
• Other duties as directed by Charge Nurse, RN Supervisor, Director of Nurses or Administrator.
