Job summary

Sweetwater Care is seeking a Nursing Assistant (NA) for permanent, on-site employment. The NA provides compassionate, direct patient care under RN/LPN supervision and collaborates with the healthcare team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, monitoring vitals, ensuring safety, and documenting changes for transitions between shifts. The role requires flexibility for nights, weekends, and on-call shifts.

Qualifications

• Completion of a nursing assistant course or equivalent within six months of hire.
• Prior hospital experience preferred.
• Current BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, mobility, and meals.
• Perform and document vitals, weights, and intake/output; collect specimens and assist with point-of-care testing.
• Promptly answer call lights, perform frequent patient rounds, and maintain a safe environment.
• Work with the healthcare team, orient new employees, and maintain professional communication.
• Report changes in a patient's condition to the nurse and provide a comprehensive report to the next shift's NA.
• Assist with stocking supplies, general cleaning, and providing end-of-life and post-mortem care.
