Job summary

Good Samaritan Society in West Union, IA is seeking a Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our long-term care team. You will provide resident-centered care, assist with daily living activities, monitor vital signs, and support the nursing staff under RN supervision.

This position requires CNA certification, 18+ years of age, and preferred long-term care experience. Training is provided if needed. The role may involve assisting with transfers, meals, documentation, and infection prevention.

Qualifications

• CNA certification with the State Board of Nursing; training or certification through Endorsement provided by facility.
• Minimum of 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
• Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under RN supervision.
• Assist with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, feeding and vital signs.
• Support transfers, positioning, ROM and mobility; maintain infection prevention and PPE usage.
• Document resident interactions and care outcomes; communicate changes to charge nurse.
• Participate in wellness and recreational programs; support dining and meal service.
