Job summary

Montecito Heights Healthcare & Wellness Centre is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide routine nursing care under the direction of the Charge Nurse, RN Supervisor, Director of Nurses or Administrator. The candidate should be licensed or enrolled as a CNA, with at least 6 months of experience and a strong commitment to compassionate resident care.

Responsibilities include resident rounds, feeding assistance, hygiene, mobility support, and reporting concerns to supervisors.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a school for nursing assistants or have a license as a certified nursing assistant.
• A minimum of 6 months experience as a CNA or clinical experience while enrolled.
• Must possess a sincere desire to serve the ill, aged and infirm.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Deal tactfully with residents, families, visitors and staff.
• Willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
• Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm.
• Must be in good general health and emotionally stable.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties in accordance with facility policies and safety rules.
• Make resident rounds at the start of each shift and every two hours.
• Verify resident identification before care or meals.
• Make beds and clean bedside/overbed tables.
• Serve and manage water and meals, assist in feeding as needed.
• Dress residents and assist with dressing.
• Transport residents to therapy, activities, or religious services.
• Maintain incontinent care and keep linens clean and dry.
• Follow nurse call system and respond to calls promptly.
• Report complaints, abuse, medication issues or hazards immediately.
• Attend in-service training and other duties as directed by supervisors.
