Job summary

Virtua Health seeks a part-time patient care assistant to support daily living activities and care planning under RN/LPN supervision. You will assist with bathing, dressing, mobility, and hygiene while upholding safety standards and effective communication with the healthcare team.

The role may involve phlebotomy and EKG duties where certified, recording vital signs, and reinforcing patient education. Join a team focused on compassionate, high-quality care in a busy clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates knowledge of basic patient care skills and standards.
• Must have strong communication skills.
• Phlebotomy training/education is required for ED positions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing and mobility.
• Follow standard precautions and support safe patient practices.
• Record vital signs, perform point of care tests and document results.
• May perform phlebotomy and EKGs if certified.
• Communicate changes in patient status to RN/LPN and assist accordingly.
• Support patient and family education and participate in quality initiatives.
• Assist in orientation of new hires.
