Job summary

Virtua Health in New Jersey is seeking a part-time Nursing Assistant to support daily living activities for patients under RN/LPN direction. You will assist with routine care, communicate with the healthcare team, and help maintain high standards of professional ethics.

Responsibilities include vital signs, basic procedures, and patient education. The role offers a night shift schedule with a total of 24 hours per week and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates knowledge of basic patient care skills, procedures and standards.
• Must have strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supports activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, etc.).
• Assists with mobility and transport as needed.
• Performs vital signs, point-of-care testing, bladder scanning, Foley care as applicable.
• May perform phlebotomy and EKGs if certified.
• Identifies changes in patient status and informs RN/LPN.
• Reinforces education for patient and family regarding care needs and safety.
• Participates in patient satisfaction initiatives and goals.
• Contributes to performance improvement activities.
• Assists in orientation of new hires.
