Job summary

Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center GW Health in Washington, DC is seeking a Part-Time Mental Health Technician for day shifts. The role supports the Behavioral Health Department by providing direct patient care under RN supervision and handling non-invasive tasks, while helping maintain a safe and therapeutic milieu.

The position focuses on ADLs, hydration, nutrition, mobility, and general patient support, contributing to a high-quality care environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• College degree in behavioral science preferred or related field.
• One year Psychiatric Technician experience in an inpatient acute psychiatric hospital preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct environment rounds and monitor unit milieu.
• Help with ADL’s: elimination care and hygiene care in a manner that promotes safety, dignity, and comfort.
• Assist with hydration and nutrition status.
• Assist in patients’ increase mobility.
• Perform other job duties/assignments as assigned.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent

College degree in behavioral science

One year Psychiatric Technician experience in an inpatient acute psychiatric hospital (preferred)
