Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center GW Health in Washington, DC is seeking a Part-Time Mental Health Technician for day shifts. The role supports the Behavioral Health Department by providing direct patient care under RN supervision and handling non-invasive tasks, while helping maintain a safe and therapeutic milieu.

The position focuses on ADLs, hydration, nutrition, mobility, and general patient support, contributing to a high-quality care environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• College degree in behavioral science preferred or related field.
• One year Psychiatric Technician experience in an inpatient acute psychiatric hospital preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct environment rounds and monitor unit milieu.
• Help with ADL’s: elimination care and hygiene care in a manner that promotes safety, dignity, and comfort.
• Assist with hydration and nutrition status.
• Assist in patients’ increase mobility.
• Perform other job duties/assignments as assigned.

Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center GW Health opened its doors in April 2025 as the first new full-service hospital in Washington, DC in more than 25 years! Integrating clinical care with existing community providers, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC’s), The George Washington University Hospital, and our Urgent Care Center in Ward 8, this enhanced integrated delivery system will establish a robust network of care for all District residents, but more importantly, it will ensure residents of Wards 7 and 8 have access to high quality care in their community. Our advanced hospital will offer 136 beds (with the ability to expand to 184 beds), a verified trauma center, adult and pediatric emergency departments, maternal health and newborn delivery, an ambulatory pavilion for clinic visits and other outpatient services, onsite 550-car parking garage, and a helipad for emergency transport.

We are seeking a Mental Health Tech (Part-Time, Days)

The Mental Health Technician performs direct patient care tasks under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse and performs various tasks as competency documentation designates. The Mental Health Technician provides direct patient care limited to non-invasive procedures. The incumbent supports the Behavioral Health Department by performing a variety of service-related activities, including maintaining facilities and supplies.
