Job summary

ClearVista Behavioral Health in Lorain, OH is seeking a Mental Health Technician (MHT) for day shifts on a 3x12 schedule (7a–7p). The role includes safety rounds, group facilitation, crisis support with RNs, and admissions assistance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Some college or STNA/EMT experience preferred.
• Empathy, consistency, and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform frequent safety rounds, observations, and 1:1s as assigned; document behaviors and interventions.
• Lead or assist with groups: coping skills, grounding, recreation, and ADLs support.
• Partner with RNs during crises using verbal de-escalation, redirection, and team response protocols.
• Support admissions/intakes: belongings inventory, vitals, and orientation to the unit.
• Maintain a therapeutic, tidy environment and uphold visitor policies.
• Coordinate with rounding providers and daytime interdisciplinary teams to keep care plans moving.
• Support safe discharges and smooth handoffs to evening/night teams.
