Job summary

Generations Healthcare in Lompoc, CA seeks a compassionate Mental Health Worker/Resident Assistant to support residents with mental health challenges. The role includes facilitating groups, recording progress, and coordinating with staff in a dynamic setting.

No experience? Training is provided in basic group facilitation, mini-caseload check-ins, and weekly evaluations. Wage: $22-24 per hour; PRN schedule available.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of experience in a health facility (SNF, ALF, or hospital).
• Must read, write, speak and understand English.
• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant action.
• Ability to deal tactfully with residents, families, staff and the public.
• Patience, cheerfulness and enthusiasm for handling difficult residents.
• Background check, pre-employment physical and drug screening required.

Responsibilities

• Escort clients to groups timely and record participation; maintain 1:6 ratio.
• Facilitate groups and activities; lead MHW discussions and community meetings.
• Record client participation and log into the medical record.
• Encourage attendance and assist with forms and documentation.
• Document interventions and interactions in the medical record.
• Report changes in behavior to charge nurse and Program Counselor.
