Coastal Oaks Special Care in Atascadero, CA is seeking a compassionate Mental Health Worker/Resident Aid to support residents with mental health challenges in a caring, structured environment. Wage ranges from $22 to $24 per hour.

No prior experience is required; motivated candidates will be trained in group facilitation, mini-caseload check-ins, and weekly evaluations while contributing to a supportive team and safer, more effective resident care.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months job experience in a health facility (SNF, ALF or hospital).
• Must read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to make independent decisions when warranted.
• Ability to interact tactfully with staff, residents, families, visitors, and others.

Responsibilities

• Escort clients to groups and record participation to maintain a 1:6 group ratio.
• Facilitate groups and activities as assigned.
• Lead discussions and daily community meetings.
• Record client participation and log into medical records weekly.
• Encourage attendance and assist with forms and documentation.
