Job summary

Bickford Senior Living, located in Michigan, seeks a Medication Technician to support resident care and administer daily medications with compassion and respect. Qualifications

• Active Medication Technician Certification in good standing or 1 year of senior care experience.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Willing to take additional training or education as required by states.
• CPR and First Aid certifications are required.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Demonstrates good judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to utilize or learn Bickford’s eMAR system to administer medications.

Responsibilities

• Accurately following the resident MAR to ensure medications are given according to physician orders.
• Understand and follow the Six rights of medication administration and all policies and procedures.
• Understand and appropriately utilize the eMAR system for medication administration.
• Communicate appropriately with clinical leadership for clarification and direction regarding resident medication administration and care.
• Provide direct resident care; supervise resident care work of non-licensed team members and other areas as appropriate.
• Lead by example in demonstrating the Bickford Mission ‘Whatever it Takes’ to all team members on shift.
