Job summary

The Drake in Concord, NC is seeking a compassionate Medication Aide - SIC to support the clinical team with medication administration and specialized resident care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• State certification as a Medication Aide preferred; on-the-job training available.
• Healthcare experience, especially in senior care or assisted living, preferred.
• Knowledge of medication administration, safety protocols, and infection control practices.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members.
• Compassion for the elderly and strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Medication Administration: Administer medications to residents as prescribed, ensuring proper dosage, timing, and documentation.
• Specialized Care Support: Provide individualized care for residents with specific medical needs, including assistance with ADLs.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate and timely medication records and report adverse reactions or errors to the supervising nurse.
• Resident Monitoring: Monitor residents for side effects or changes in condition related to medication and inform the healthcare team.
• Medication Storage & Handling: Ensure medications are stored safely and securely per regulations and policies.
• Collaboration with Healthcare Team: Work with nursing staff, physicians, and other professionals to ensure quality care.
• Compliance & Safety: Follow regulations, guidelines, and protocols for medication administration and safety.
