Job summary

Peaceful Pines Senior Living seeks a dedicated Medication Aide to support residents across Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care. You will administer prescribed medications, assist with daily living activities, and help maintain safety, comfort, and dignity.

This role emphasizes person-centered care, teamwork, and clear communication with nursing leadership. Flexibility for weekends/holidays and SD licensure preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensed in SD as Medication Aide (or willing to complete on-the-job training)

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations.
• Ensure safe, accurate, and timely medication delivery following all policies and procedures.
• Monitor residents for medication effectiveness, side effects, and overall response.
• Communicate any medication-related concerns, changes, or follow-ups to nursing leadership.
• Coordinate with nursing staff to support continuity of care and medication management.
• Accurately document medication administration and treatment completion in the MAR and other required documentation systems.
• Maintain security, accountability, and proper storage of medications in accordance with state regulations and community policy.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including eating, bathing, dressing, and mobility.
• Provide snacks and supplements, encourage hydration, and assist with feeding as trained and needed.
• Perform care responsibilities that promote residents' safety, comfort, dignity, choice and independence.
• Support routines and preferences reflecting personal lifestyle and choices.
• Approach interactions with patience, kindness, empathy, and respect.
• Utilize person-centered and dementia-informed care techniques for residents with cognitive impairment.
