Job summary

Good Samaritan in Canistota, SD seeks a Medication Assistant (MA) to deliver resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under a charge nurse. You will support basic health needs, monitor vital signs, assist with transfers, and help maintain a safe, respectful living environment.

This full-time role requires CNA certification per state rules where applicable, valid driver license if needed, and commitment to quality care and daily earnings access.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Minimum age 18 with prior clinical or nursing assistant experience preferred.
• Annual continuing education per state requirements; driver license may be required.
• States: CMA/TMA certification as applicable (IA/ND/SD/MN) and active CNA registration.
• Must obtain CMA/TMA or CMA certification per state rules within 120 days if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance.
• Administer prescribed medications as delegated by licensed nurses.
• Document care outcomes, medication administration, behavior, activity, and dietary notes.
• Communicate condition changes and care concerns to the charge nurse.
• Assist with transfers, mobility, and ROM exercises.
• Assist with meals, dining experience, and hydration.
• Provide housekeeping and laundry assistance to residents as needed.
• Support wellness and recreational programs and participate in committees as needed.
