Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Clerical, typing, and computer proficiency essential.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English at a professional level.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Preferred: experience in a medical office or clinic front desk.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in patients, register in ECW and Meditech.
• Collect and enter patient demographics, insurance, and emergency contacts.
• Explain clinic policies, payment expectations, and appointment procedures.
• Collect co-pays and outstanding balances; post payments and issue receipts.
• Prepare patient charts and super-bills; balance the cash drawer daily.
• Schedule and confirm appointments; provide co-pay reminders.
• Verify Medicaid eligibility and referrals/PCP assignments as needed.
• Handle clerical duties: answer phones, file, type, and maintain paperwork.
• Assist with lab registrations, chart preparation, scanning, and record updates.
• Serve as a backup for front desk and customer service; support Follow-Up Dept.
