Job summary

Krist Samaritan Counseling Center in Houston, TX is seeking a Medical Billing & Collections Specialist to join our administrative team. This full-time, in-person role focuses on insurance billing, payment posting, verification, and collections to support access to mental health care.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of medical billing or healthcare admin experience, strong attention to detail, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in medical billing, insurance billing, or related field.
• Ability to read and understand EOBs.
• Experience with insurance denials and appeals is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Submit insurance claims to appropriate agencies on time.
• Verify client insurance eligibility and benefits.
• Post and reconcile insurance and client payments.
• Follow up on unpaid or denied claims with insurers.
• Assist with provider credentialing and insurance panels.
• Maintain accurate billing and credentialing records.
• Support scheduling and client check-in with the team.
