Job summary

Mass General Brigham Community Physicians, Inc. is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to support the practice onsite in Lexington, MA.

The role involves 1:1 support with a Primary Care provider, seeing approximately eight patients daily, and collaborating with physicians, nurse practitioners, and nursing staff to ensure efficient care. The ideal candidate will have 1–2 years of MA or medical field experience, a High School Diploma (Associate's Degree in Medical Assisting preferred), and BLS

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required or Associate's Degree Medical Assisting preferred.
• Experience: 1-2 years of direct Medical Assistant experience or medical field work required.
• Licenses: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification; CMA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists junior Medical Assistants with day-to-day questions and onboarding training.
• Show patients to examination rooms, prepare equipment, interview patients, measure vital signs, and record information.
• Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, and physician instructions to patients, and provide educational materials.
• Perform general office duties, answer phones, take dictation, complete insurance forms, and liaise with other departments.
• Collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, log them, and prepare for testing; phlebotomy if competent.
• Maintain inventory of immunizations and check expiration dates.
• Provides immunizations (as applicable) with certification or 3 years of experience supervising.
• Strive to improve departmental quality initiatives, such as two patient identifiers and hand hygiene.
