Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant for our Family Practice team in Marlborough, CT. This full-time role (40 hours/week, Mon-Fri, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM) focuses on patient intake, clinical tasks, and coordination within a state-certified practice.

The MA will perform phlebotomy, document in the EHR, and assist with scheduling and referrals while adhering to CT scope of practice and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent military medical training.
• 2+ years aide/tech-level healthcare experience.
• Certified/Registered Medical Assistant (AAMA/NHA/NCCT/AMT) preferred.
• Experience with Epic EMR preferred.
• Experience in primary care setting preferred.
• Good computer proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and clinical summaries, and coordinate next steps.
• Perform phlebotomy for patients as needed.
• Prepare patients and collect clinical information per protocol.
• Manage patients with approved protocols and scheduling guidelines.
• Document all patient interactions in the EHR.
• Schedule tests and referrals; assist with disease management resources.
• Answer patient calls and route messages using the EHR.
• Maintain infection control and patient safety.
• Support care team to ensure smooth office operations.
