Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; completion of MA program and externship/internship or EMT/Paramedic program or athletic trainer certification.
• If credentialed, maintain MA re-certification CEUs.
• MA credential options include CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, NRCMA, or CMAC.
• EMT/Paramedic licensure in Michigan and CPR certification are acceptable paths.
• 0–1 year of clinical experience preferred; otherwise equivalent education and clinical exposure.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and prepare patients for appointments.
• Collect and document patient histories, vital signs, and health information.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, testing, and specimen collection.
• Administer medications and perform diagnostic testing as directed.
• Communicate test results and provider instructions to patients.
• Provide patient and family education to support better health outcomes.
• Coordinate care and serve as a liaison between patients and providers.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and disease management programs.
