Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to support providers in delivering high-quality patient care. You will work directly with patients, assist with exams, testing, and specimen collection, and help coordinate care across teams.

The role emphasizes patient education, accurate vital signs documentation, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure positive health outcomes within a Southeast Michigan community setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an MA program and externship, EMT, or Paramedic training.
• MA certification or eligibility preferred.
• 0–1 year clinical experience preferred; alternative 2+ years in community clinic acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and prepare patients for appointments.
• Collect and document patient histories, vital signs, and health information.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, testing, and specimen collection.
• Administer medications and perform diagnostic testing as directed.
• Communicate test results and provider instructions to patients.
• Provide patient and family education to support better health outcomes.
• Coordinate care and liaise between patients and providers.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and disease management programs.
