Job summary

Banner Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for the FP-New River Trails-Clinic in Glendale, AZ. The role supports clinicians, administers basic patient care, and coordinates referrals and scheduling in a fast-paced clinic environment.

Responsibilities include preparing patients for exams, assisting with procedures, documenting vitals, and maintaining accurate records. A formal MA program and active certification are required, plus BLS.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent.
• Completion of an approved medical assistant training program as defined by state regulations.
• Active Medical Assistant Certification is required.
• BLS certification required.
• Active MA certification such as CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA with proof of current membership.
• Requires strong computer skills and ability to work with medical software.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient for exam and treatment by taking and recording vital signs and documenting chief complaint.
• Assists providers with exams and minor in-office procedures.
• Coordinates and manages patient care including referrals, authorizations, and scheduling.
• Performs clerical tasks and ensures accurate medical records and billing information.
• Maintains clean and safe clinical environment and proper handling of supplies and equipment.
• Develops effective communication with patients and staff and participates in onboarding.
