Job summary

Penn Medicine is hiring a Medical Assistant (MA) to support physicians and practice operations. The MA will perform patient preparation, interviewing, and care tasks, with emphasis on patient-centered service and high-quality care.

The role includes phlebotomy, specimen handling, EKGs, injections, and coordination with care teams. Requires CMA/RMA or MA cert within 90 days, and a minimum high school diploma.

Qualifications

• CMA or RMA certification required or in progress.
• MA Certification required within 90 days of hire.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in Penn Medicine program or equivalent considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care including patient preparation, interviewing, and communication.
• Room patients, record vitals, and manage ED/EMR documentation.
• Perform phlebotomy, specimen handling, and lab tests per protocol.
• Administer injections and vaccines as directed.
• Perform EKGs and other outpatient screening tests.
• Support nurses and physicians in procedures and transitions of care.
• Coordinate telephonic and in-person care with patients and teams.
• Maintain infection control and safety practices.
