Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers in patient care across clinical areas. You will assist with examinations, procedures, diagnostic tests, and dressing changes under physician supervision, ensuring safety and quality in every interaction.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, completion of a Medical Assistant program, and certification eligibility within 12 months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; and graduation from a Medical Assistant program
• Eligible for certification by AMT, AAMA, or NHA within 12 months of hire
• Current credentials must be maintained per policy and certification timelines

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with patient examinations, procedures, diagnostic studies and dressing changes
• Record patient vital signs, temperature, pulse, height, weight and visit reason; document in EMR
• Prepare patients for examination and direct them to examination rooms
• Administer medications using the seven rights; perform venipuncture and collect specimens as procedures allow
• Monitor patients during and after procedures; respond to emergencies and notify providers as needed
• Maintain safety, cleanliness, and adherence to policies; participate in continuing education and mentorship
