Optum's WellMed at North Richland Hills is hiring a Medical Assistant. The MA will support patient care under a provider, perform specimen collection and basic procedures, and ensure accurate documentation in the medical record.

The role requires a Medical Assistant certification (or ability to obtain within 180 days) and current BLS. Expected responsibilities include infection control, patient confidentiality, and teamwork in a busy clinic.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current Medical Assistant certification or ability to obtain within 180 days of employment.
• Current BLS certification for healthcare providers at time of hire or within 30 days.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Basic computer literacy with Excel.

Responsabilités

• Performs MA duties within scope of practice including venipuncture, wound care, specimen collection, and EKGs.
• Rooms patients for examinations and prepares them for the provider.
• Documents patient care accurately in the medical record.
• Coordinates patient care under provider supervision and company policies.
• Maintains infection control practices and patient confidentiality.
• Supports and follows Standard Delegation of Orders and performs other duties as assigned.
