Job summary

The Ohio State University Physicians, Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant to support direct patient care in outpatient settings. The role includes rooming patients, taking vital signs, preparing for examinations, and assisting physicians with procedures.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent with a Medical Assistant program diploma or related experience; Certified MAs are preferred. The position offers a comprehensive benefits package and tuition reimbursement to pursue

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent along with at least one of the following: a Medical Assistant Program diploma, or 1 year of medical assisting experience, or Military Medic training, or EMT-P training, or an equivalent combination.
• Medical Assistant Certification is preferred.
• Tuition reimbursement program available to help cover certification costs.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, measure and record vital signs (height, weight, temperature, BP, pulse, respiration).
• Complete patient interview and history.
• Prepare patients for examinations, tests and treatments and explain procedures; assist with procedures as ordered by physician.
• May assist in examinations, carry out treatments and special tests.
• Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms for patients.
• Collect samples (blood, urine, sputum) and perform routine lab tests.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Medical Assistant Program diploma

EMT-P (Paramedic) training

Military Medic training

Equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education
