Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patients and providers throughout the visit, including in-person and telephonically, under supervision of a licensed clinician. You will prepare rooms, document patient information, and ensure efficient flow of visits.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and preferred completion of a medical assistant program, with experience handling confidential information in fast-paced settings and BLS certification.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Supports the patient and provider throughout the visit.
• Ensures the patient and provider are prepared for the visit.
• Answers patient questions prior to leaving; prepares room for next appointment.
• Provides excellent patient service through communication both over the phone and in person.
• Completes appropriate documentation including patient registration when necessary.
• Maintains clinical knowledge and credentials through ongoing development.
