Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to support providers in delivering exceptional patient care. You will work directly with patients, assist with exams, testing, and specimen collection in a part-time capacity.

Responsibilities include taking histories, vital signs, administering meds per directions, and coordinating care with the team. A strong emphasis on patient education and quality improvement is highlighted.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Complete an approved MA program and MA externship.
• MA Internship is acceptable.
• EMT, Paramedic, CMA/RMA/NCMA certifications are valued.
• Maintain current MA Re-Certification CEUs if credentialed.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and prepare patients for appointments.
• Collect and document patient histories, vital signs, and health information.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, testing, and specimen collection.
• Administer medications and perform diagnostic testing as directed.
• Communicate test results and provider instructions to patients.
• Provide patient and family education to support better health outcomes.
• Coordinate care and act as liaison between patients and providers.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and disease management programs.
• Perform test tracking, manage tasks, address gaps in care, order supplies, and assist with scheduling.
