Job summary

Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare is seeking a Medical Assistant to support a clinical team in a busy Memphis medical clinic. You will perform receptionist duties, schedule appointments, enter patient information, and assist with exams under a provider's direction.

The role requires strong communication, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and basic clinical tasks including vitals, specimen collection, and patient education. High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• Strong communication with patients, families, and physicians.
• Successful navigation of EMR systems with accurate documentation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Scheduling appointments and imaging exams, lab call backs, prior authorizations.
• Collecting and recording patient data including vitals and basic information.
• Assisting with exams, including EKGs, venipuncture and specimen collection.
• Preparing exam rooms, maintaining infection control, and restocking supplies.
• Administering medications and immunizations under physician direction; refilling prescriptions as allowed.
• Providing patient education and information throughout visits.
