Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to support providers in delivering exceptional patient care. You will work directly with patients, assist with clinical procedures, and help create a positive healthcare experience daily.

Responsibilities include taking histories and vital signs, assisting with exams, administering medications, and coordinating care. A high school diploma and MA qualifications or related licensure are required, with opportunities for

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Successful completion of accredited/approved MA program and MA Externship; MA Internship; EMT program; Paramedic program; or Certified Athletic Trainer.
• If credentialed, maintains current MA Re-Certification CEUs.
• MA-Non-Credentialed I: MA eligible to attain Medical Assistant Certification is desired, or EMT with current/active license in the State of Michigan, or Paramedic with Michigan license; CPR certification required.
• MA-Credentialed I: CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, NRCMA, or CMAC certification.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and prepare patients for appointments.
• Collect and document patient histories, vital signs, and health information.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, testing, and specimen collection.
• Administer medications and perform diagnostic testing as directed.
• Communicate test results and provider instructions to patients.
• Provide patient and family education to support better health outcomes.
• Coordinate care and serve as a liaison between patients and providers.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and disease management programs.
