Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to support providers in delivering patient care. You will work directly with patients, assist with exams, tests, and procedures, document histories and vital signs, and help coordinate care within a team-focused setting.

Responsibilities include administering medications, relaying test results, and educating patients and families to promote better health outcomes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited MA program and externship/internship.
• EMT or Paramedic training is acceptable.
• MA credentialing (CMA/RMA/NCMA/CCMA/NRCMA/CMAC) is preferred.
• Maintains current MA re-certification CEUs if credentialed.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and prepare patients for appointments.
• Document medical histories, vital signs, and health information.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, testing, and specimen collection.
• Administer medications and perform diagnostic testing as directed.
• Communicate test results and provider instructions to patients.
• Educate patients and families to support better health outcomes.
• Coordinate care and liaison between patients and providers.
• Support quality improvement and disease management initiatives.
