Job summary

VillageMD in New Jersey seeks a Medical Assistant to support physicians and APN with patient flow, clinical tasks and clerical duties. You will prepare examination rooms, escort patients, and document vitals in the EHR while coordinating orders in the PMS.

The role requires 0–1 year of related experience (2–4 years preferred), BLS within 30 days of hire, and strong English communication and basic computer skills. Travel to satellite offices may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Graduated from an accredited medical assistant or phlebotomy program.
• 0–1 year related work experience; 2–4 years preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
• Basic proficiency in computer use.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the examination room.
• Escorts patient into the room.
• Maintains efficient patient flow.
• Obtains vital signs: BP, temp, pulse, height & weight.
• Reviews and updates medication list in EHR and documents allergies.
• Appropriately enters orders in PMS and EHR.
• Provides referrals and/or consult orders appropriately and in a timely manner.
• All other duties as assigned.
